10 Things to Do When You're Feeling Down

10 Things to Do When You're Feeling Down

I've been thinking about writing this for a while now but just haven't gotten around to it until now. I can be a happy person most of the time but just like everyone else I have rough days. When I feel down it usually is either caused by stress or it causes me to be stressed and anxious but sometimes when I feel down I can feel empty, sad and just cry for a while but it's okay. Being sad is okay for times just always remember that, it's okay to cry. I do recommend you do try these tips next time you're feeling down because they 100% work for me.

1. Listen to music

Music is such a powerful thing. Personally when I am sad I listen to my favourite Troye Sivan songs because they  always make me feel so much better.. If I don't want to listen to Troye then I will usually put on a 90s playlist or a Disney playlist, blast the volume and dance around.

2. Go for a walk

I believe this one work the most for me, going out to get fresh air when feeling down is one of my favourite things. I take my headphones so I can listen to music and I grab my camera and off I go advanturing to take new photos and get some air. I love adventuring and finding new places especially if I have my camera so this is a definite for me.

3. Have a bubble bath

Having a bath is super relaxing. Light some candles and bring in your laptop or a book and enjoy some time to yourself relaxing honestly just pamper yourself - shave your legs, put on a face mask, watch your favourite series on Netflix whatever you do make sure you're pampering yourself.

4. Bake

Do some baking, be creative and have fun. You could bake something simple and your most favourite or you could try something more difficult and get creative. Just remember don't get stressed out if it doesn't go to plan, this is only for fun!!

5. Write down your feelings
Grab a pen, grab a diary and just write how you're feeling, it doesn't matter whether you've written one sentence or 3 pages just continue writing until your feelings are on paper. When writing just concentrate on what your writing, you could end up pin pointing the reasons you're sad.

6. Cry
This may seem weird but crying is okay, it's actually good to cry when you're feeling sad sometimes it can improve how you're feeling. Don't ever hold back the tears, let them free because if you hold them in then you won't end up feeling any better.

7. Talk to a friend or family member
Talking can really help, letting it all out and getting it off your chest.

8. Do something nice for someone.
Making someone’s day will make you feel so good. There are so many ways you can do this, it could be as simple as giving a compliment or sending cookies to your neighbor. Just remember, what goes around comes around.

9. Pamper yourself
Sometimes spending a little bit of extra money on yourself can make you feel good so go out and get your nails done or go get a facial or massage. Schedule an appointment that you’ve always wanted, like a facial, and let yourself relax and enjoy it.

10. Get enough sleep
Lastly, get enough sleep. When you're feeling constantly tired, it really wears on you. Get those eight hours of beauty sleep you'll end up being in a better mood!

I hope you use these tips, I also really hope they work on you!

Lots of love,

A Beautiful Angel, Georgia Buckingham

A beautiful angel, Georgia Buckingham

I have been following Georgia on instagram for a while now and it's fair to say that she is one of the happiest people I know. She is one of the biggest inspirations of mine, nearly every single post of hers on Instagram made me smile no matter if it was on her old fan account where she endlessly talked about her sunshine, Michael Clifford, he spam account where she talked about her life and chicken nuggets or on her main account where she always posted the most beautiful photos.

I haven't met Georgia in person more than once and even then I only briefly saw her and walked past her but I have gotten to know her through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and I can say that I am blessed to have gotten to know her and have her in my life. I know she has been battling with cancer since about Christmas Eve 2014 and ever since then she's been to hell and back more times than anyone should ever have to, she definitely did not deserve this. A wish of hers has always been to meet 5 Seconds of Summer, her favourite band, on July 23rd her wish came true and she met the band. This made me so so happy, the fact that she met her sunshines made me beyond happy.

She has some amazing interests such as meme (especially Gavin memes), 5SOS, Chicken Nuggets and these interests make up part of her. In the past we bonded over 5SOS and it was definitely beautiful. Georgia is one of those friends that always make you happy no matter the situation, she is amazing, funny, kind, trustworthy and beautiful, it's funny because it's rare to find a friend who has all those traits but myself and many others were lucky enough to find Georgia and be friends with her.
Georgia is an amazingly strong girl and I am always inspired by her and her strength and positivity.

Watching a friend or anyone for that matter battling cancer is definitely one of the hardest things anyone will ever had to see, where there is nothing you can really do but support them or keep them smiling and that's what I have tried to do. Myself and a few of her friends started a hashtag (#5SOSNoticeGeorgia) which we tried with all our hearts to spread around and get 5SOS to notice her but we couldn't have gotten as far as we have without the help of so many people around the world including the 5SOS Fam, her friends, news agencies, Amplify, Teen magazines and so many more people.

I have and will always have so much love and respect for Georgia, she definitely deserves the love and support she's been getting lately.

Lots of love,
Maddy xx
